What have I done recently?
So far, I've found Airbnb is the easiest way to find places to stay, which gives me more flexibility to change my location, and eases the moving process because I don't have to pack & unpack as much stuff (basic necessities are already included in the Airbnb). I took advantage of that when I realized I had nothing much to do in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and lots left to do in Mount Pleasant, so I changed my plans and went back south. Dad even came to Mount Pleasant for a packed weekend of showing him what I'd found! I'm currently in Council Bluffs, Iowa (basically Omaha, Nebraska). I'm staying in the lovely Loess Hills. This weekend (June 14th) I'll be running the Cornfield Cornfield 10k, attending the Men's College World Series game, and probably checking out the No Kings protest on Bob, the pedestrian walking bridge across the Missouri river. From here, I plan to be research College Springs, Iowa, where my grandaunt Veryle may have been born, Bedford, Iowa, where my great-great-great-grandaunt Georgie Ann Hayes was buried, and Lincoln, Nebraska, where the oldest man-made building used to be the log cabin built by Edward Warnes, who MUST be a relative! As a tourist, I'm planning to check out the Villisca Axe Murder House, Art Battle, the Squirrel Cage Jail, the new Everly Brothers mural, and maybe Everworld and Joslyn Castle. I'll be off to the far north near Riceville for 2 weeks from Jun 28-Jul 12, and finally the far south in Lamoni for the rest of my time in Iowa.
