What's this all about?
First stop, and I've already made lots of changes. Originally set for Fort Smith, Arkansas, I realized I had somehow aimed too far east. Shifting to Tulsa allows me to visit the Burlington area, where my great-great-grandma and grandpa Anderson lived, who took part in the Great Oklahoma Land Rush. Their sod house may actually still be there! It means I'll have to reevaluate some of the destinations below, and some of the Arkansas destinations will wait until I come back around to southern Missouri at the end. Although I won't be as rural as expected for this first stop, it's still a nice easy start to the journey, to get used to the new lifestyle before it gets really hectic during later stops. Also, when I looked into places to stay, I decided to do Airbnb after all (Yes, I know I told some of you I wasn't doing Airbnb, but I've changed my mind!) And Airbnb means I won't need to drag a mattress around, and therefore probably won't need an SUV. We'll see if everything fits in the car, and how things go in that area. I may change my mind again!
